My Last Drop

My Last Drop

Cosmos Poetry 2/6/25

Like the rain that pours on my roof tonight

I asked you to come see me

But you said you wouldn’t

Because you were too busy

Those words cuts like a knife

And if you must know

I’m not one to strife

So I have to just let go

Time will heal

And I will let go

Like another broken seal

I will not care anymore

So now as I sip my beer

Which I am for your names sake

I will not shed a tear

For you I will not be awake

And so I sip my last drop

And wonder if that’s what you want

As I shut down all hope

And gracefully lay down for tonight
