CULTURE CLASH!

CULTURE CLASH!
The culture is very different! People over there are constantly at war amongst themselves over trees, coconuts, streams, rivers, sagos, land, seas and even the path (bush rot) to walk on is argued about etc., and any outside influence makes it worse.

There really is no land (blocks) for sale as every nature is accounted for. That's right every nature! You cannot just have a bath anywhere along the river/stream but at a particular place, just tingim bikpla wara ron ikam igo but you cant just dive into that river anywhere along its banks; you have to go to a designated spot along the bank to wash. The tree has a name the coconut has a story, the tanget in a particular place is worshiped (seriously guys). All Provinces have traditions but that place called Sepik ya is another place in another world (my Dads place so can't complain now can I)

Yes, Im talking about the recent viral post regarding the deportation of 50+ highlanders out of East/West Sepik. Some may think its the selfishness of Sepiks themselves wanting to work for money, others may think it's jealousy and highlanders are often hard-headed which may make it difficult to tame lol! and even some of the Sepiks may generally hate seeing highlanders around because of their unhygienic outlook on things around; let me explain this, the highlands has a cooler temperature so leaves and debris are not removed just so it keeps the moist and cold air at bay. If they sweep the ground and clean up the place it just makes it more colder, this behavior is seen being carried around with them even in coastal places too, we just have to understand and accept our very own different cultures laka!

Anyways going back to what I was saying earlier! it seems blue-collar jobs will be localised in the Sepik area and maybe the hiring company in concern will have to be recruiting Highlanders and any other Province people professionally on specialist jobs such as a Microbe Agriculturist/Scientist or Heavy Duty Fitter Machinists or a skilled person which they cant find within the Province.

Let me give a scenario here: okay when ladies have their monthly flow (period) they don't reside in the family home but go stay in another female house (house meri; side-house blo ol meri) until they are clean before returning to the family house; that's right everyone will know even your brothers and boyfriends will know you are having your period lol! (well that's a story for another time). What I'm trying to say here is that things like this tradition may not fit into other Provinces way of doing things. Other Province might not respect those traditions and it will definitely hurt the Sepik people. Upholding of the traditions is a big factor in their lives, actually upholding traditions and culture is what they live for daily (honestly I'm not exaggerating here)

Please understand them ooooo. I personally avoid going home to Sepik because I kind of hate following rules, Im a bit stubborn! I mean who wants to migrate go lo haus-meri for one week every end of the month, Id rather go stay up there in the Highlands where life is free as the air that I breath na kain ehehe! Thats right JFC that is!

Anyways, if I were to title this blog than what might I call it o? Should we say "Battle of the Clans?" Culture Clash? Provincial Clash? Regional Clash? Guys help me out here and lets give a title

Tok Tasol!
