Unseen Wishes-Cosmos
060624
In crowded halls where laughter
rings,
I watch you pass, my heart takes wing,
You’re just a step, a breath away,
Yet worlds apart, we drift each day.
I sit behind, a silent gaze,
Lost in the spell your presence lays,
You’re close enough to touch, to know,
But never close enough to show.
I dream of moments we could share,
Of whispered secrets, tender care,
But you walk by, your eyes elsewhere,
Unaware of the love I bear.
Each smile you give, not meant for
me,
Is like a knife that cuts too deep,
You joke, you laugh, you simply be,
While I just ache and hide and weep.
I drop my books, you barely see,
I blush, I stammer, quietly,
But you just smile, a friendly face,
Not knowing how my heart will race.
I linger near, I hope, I wait,
But all you see is just a mate,
A friend in passing, nothing more,
While my heart aches, my spirit soars.
If only you could feel this fire,
This longing, aching, deep desire,
But in your world, I’m just a friend,
A story written with no end.
So here I stay, a shadow near,
With hopes that fade, with dreams unclear,
And though you never see my plight,
I’ll cherish you in secret light.
For in these halls, I’ll walk
unseen,
A girl who loves, but won’t be seen,
And maybe one day, you’ll turn and find,
The love you missed, left far behind.
